Sylvie Volel

Chief Executive Officer

After over ten years in government leadership roles and in the management consulting industry, Sylvie Volel founded the Volel Consulting Group in 2011. Ms. Volel has more than 15 years of experience in private industry and in the US Federal Government delivering advisory services in strategy, decision analysis, economic and cost analysis, organizational and project management, strategic planning, public policy, communications, performance measurement, and information technology management.

She has held leadership positions in government and in the private sector focused on strategic and financial analysis, policy, information technology management, budgeting, and capital asset portfolio management, to include serving as a Program Examiner at the White House Office of Management and Budget. She is a recognized expert, instructor, facilitator and published author in federal IT governance and program management. Ms. Volel is a certified Project Management Professional by examination from the Project Management Institute and has been the recipient of a White House Distinguished Service Award, Women of Color in Technology All Star Award, and a Federal Aviation Administration Joint Planning and Development Office Leadership Award.

Ms. Volel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Public Affairs degree with finance specialization from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Volel, an avid art collector and artist, who is also an active member of several charitable organizations focused on the education of women and girls in Haiti, speaks fluent French, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. She resides in Washington, DC with her husband.
